Getting Schooled on eBay

I got it on eBay” used to be a phrase you heard all the time when the site was in its infancy and Mom and Pop along with their son Joe Blow could post crap from their garage and sell it quickly.  Buying and trading gaming gear and old school beat boxes was fun, and you had a community of like-minded collectors.   But once big box stores and other retailers got into the game, it seems like it became harder to find old school speakers or collectibles because so much real estate was sold to giant corporations pushing their electronic inventory.  Still, prices for these were pretty good, especially when they started adding free shipping.  There was no way mom and pop could compete with that.

But I had an experience the other day that made me feel like I still had something to gain from the giant eBay site when I found Groupon coupons for deals on eBay.  I found savings on designer fragrances and kitchen gadgets at 70% off and 40% off Nikon cameras.  It felt just like the old days, except the stuff is new, in the box and really works.  And the shipping is free.

Need an IOS remote controlled drone?  They’ve got it on eBay.  Want a cool solar phone and laptop charger?  They’ve got ‘em on eBay, too.  In fact, you can get the latest electronic gadgets and gizmos including some retro gear and same a ton of dough when you make your purchase with Groupon.  It’s easy to do.  You just apply the discount using your smart phone and you’re all set.  No more clipping coupons or mailing in receipts.  No more missed deadlines or expired mailers.  And you don’t have to worry about missing a deal because there’s something new all the time.  Nearly 9,000 Groupons were used on eBay today alone.  And there’s no letting up anytime soon when you can snag great deals like they’re offering.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, so if you haven’t ordered your gift yet, pull out your smart phone or mobile device and go to the Groupon site and see how much you can save.  What’s that?  You don’t have a smart phone!  No worries, they sell them on eBay, too.
